CODE OF CONDUCT
Rules & Policies:
• All Madrasah rules and policies will have to be adhered to fully.
• Pupils are required to adhere to the Islamic ethos of the Madrasah which is inclusive of, and not restricted to, the correct dress code, behaviour, manners, etiquettes and the offering of Salaah.
Application & Admission:
• An Application & Admin fee of £20 is payable upon submission of application form. All new applicants will have a 1-month trial. The child will be given a place based upon behaviour, attendance and progress.
• Disclosure of all previous character and conduct is necessary.
• All places offered are subject to academic, social, moral, spiritual and cultural reviews on a yearly basis.
Attendance:
• Students attending the Stockport Islamic Centre must attend all lessons except when excused by the Headteacher.
• No one will be permitted to go on holiday during term time. However, in cases of an emergency or necessity, parents or guardians wishing to obtain leave for any student may contact the Headteacher via the parent portal.
• At the end of all holidays every student must return to the Madrasah on the appointed day except when extra leave is granted by the Headteacher.
• Any students with less than 80% attendance or punctuality for each month will be removed from the register and will have to re-apply. The admin fee will again be applicable.
• Any students attending clubs will be allowed to do so providing they have permission from the headteacher, and it does not affect their studies.
• Any absences must be authorised by the headteacher via the parent portal. Failure to do so will result in an unauthorised absence.
Parental Support:
• To ensure that we achieve high educational standards and excellent Tarbiyyah (growth) within the Madrasah, we request the support of all parents/guardians to support the Madrasahs Islamic ethos at home by promoting good social conduct and a positive attitude towards learning.
Misconduct:
• Stockport Islamic Centre reserves the right to terminate any student’s admission when it deems necessary.
• If a student’s behaviour goes against our code of conduct, then we will ask for a meeting with the students Guardian and issue a warning, if the student’s behaviour does not improve, they will be put on report, if the student fails his/her report then the Madrasah has the right to terminate the student’s admission if necessary.
• Any false information given or any required information undisclosed will be liable for immediate dismissal.
Liability:
• The parent/guardian will be responsible for any damage caused to the property, building and premises or similarly damage caused to another pupil’s property or belongings.
Prohibited Items:
• Students are not allowed to bring in mobile phones unless they have permission from the Headteacher.
• Students are not allowed to have chewing gum during class hours.
• Any mobile phones brought in without permission will be confiscated and only given back to the students Guardian.
• Smoking and vaping are prohibited, and students will be reprimanded if they are caught.
Rules & Regulations Regarding Uniform:
• The Madrasah uniform must be respected and strictly adhered to. Any student who comes to class without the correct uniform will be given a warning and after multiple warnings if the student continues to arrive to class with improper uniform the guardians will be asked to come in for a meeting to resolve the matter.
• The uniform for the boys is a white jubbah and hat also the uniform for girls is a black jubbah and a black scarf.
Bullying:
• Any form of bullying, violence, aggressive and confrontational behaviour towards fellow students will not be tolerated and may lead to permanent expulsion from the Madrasah.
• Aggressive behaviour or acts of violence towards teachers in the Madrasah will not be tolerated and any student or parent found guilty of such actions could possibly be dismissed permanently from the Madrasah.
Safeguarding:
• Stockport Islamic Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff, volunteers, parents and students to share that commitment.
Fees:
• Fees will be charged at £10 per child every week and £7.50 for any additional child.
